Mode Lab
- Mode Lab allows you to play between different game modes other than Item Mode/Speed Mode.
- You can check out guides for each Mode from the 'Guide' in-game!
Mode | Player Count | Gameplay |
---|---|---|
Flag Mode | Squad | In this mode, you capture flags that appear on the track and bring them to your team's Flag Zone to earn points. While trying to obtain and move the flags, you can use items that will appear on the track to obstruct the opposing team or protect your own team. |
Infinite Boost Mode | Solo/Squad | You can fill the Boost Gauge more easily in Infinite Boost Mode than in normal Speed Mode, making for a more exciting and faster-paced race. |
Crossover Mode | Solo/Squad | Crossover Mode combines the excitement of Speed Mode with the fun of Item Mode. You can get Boosts by Drifting and also obtain items from Item Boxes. |
|
Custom Races
- You can play with AI or friends on a mode and track of your choice. If you want to play on a specific track, try out Custom Race!
|
Single Player Challenge
- In this mode, you can take on various item and driving challenges.
- Rewards are based on the number of stars earned once you've finished the challenge. Give it a go!
|
Time Attack
- Time Attack modes include 'Time Attack Challenges', in which you compete against your own record, and 'Ranked Player Challenges', in which you compete against the shadows of players who have ranked on a given track.
- Using the Track Practice feature, you can repeatedly practice on any part of the track you choose, or you can observe the shadow's racing for your own reference.
|
Replay
- This feature allows you to watch gameplay videos again. You can view up to the last 10 matches in each mode.
- If there are matches you want to save and watch again later, you can store up to 10 in Storage.
|
Once you've experienced the game modes, here are some ways to make your racing experience even more enjoyable!
Racing Pass
- By completing challenges or participating in events, you can acquire Trophies, which can then be exchanged for various reward items (such as karts, characters, license plates, and decals) in the Racing Pass.
- You can obtain more reward items if you purchase a Premium Racing Pass from the Item Shop.
- The items in the Racing Pass change every four weeks, and all Trophies you've acquired will reset. Be sure to use all your Trophies before the four-week event period ends!
|
Tune Up System
- The Tune Up system is used to enhance your kart's performance. Each kart has Gears, and Tune Up involves distributing these Gears across nine different options.
- You can view the specific effects of each Tune Up option in Garage > Kart > Upgrade, specifically under Detailed Performance Description.
- Each kart has different max values for its Tune Up options, details of which are available in the Kart Encyclopedia.
- Karts can be upgraded to higher grades by acquiring Proficiency and upgrading grants an additional +3 Gears.
- You can reset distributed Gears using the 'Reset Gears' function, so try experimenting with different performance enhancements.
|
Livery
- With Livery, you can customize your kart using decals you've either acquired, or even created yourself.
- The Decal Market allows you to sell your own decals or buy some from other Racers. The seller earns the sales revenue minus a transaction fee, so try creating your own unique decal!

Social
Now learn how you can collaborate with other Racers in the game or report/block those who are problematic.
Friends and Party
- In Lobby > Social, you can become friends with other Racers or form a party to play together.
- The Friend List shows all your friends regardless of the platform they are using. Select a Racer's name to see more details or delete them from your Friend List.
- To form a party, you can do one of the following:
- Right-click on a Racer's name in the Friend List to invite them.
- Click on an empty slot in the party member list under the Party tab to send an invitation.
- Click the Recruit button in the Party tab to gather members.
Report
- If you encounter a disruptive player during a race, you can report them after the race is over.
- Right-click their name in the Lobby > Menu > Report menu or Lobby > Social > Add Friend menu.
- You can report a player that is sending inappropriate chat messages by right-clicking their name from the [Lobby > Menu > Report or Chat > Report] menu.
Block and Unblock
- You can block a player by right-clicking their name in the Lobby > Social menu.
- If a player is on your Block List, you won't be able to play with them. You also can't invite a racer you've blocked to a party, nor can you join a party that includes them.
- To remove a player from your Block List, go to Lobby > Menu > Block List, select the racer you wish to unblock, and then you can proceed to unblock them.
